Welcome to Devon Rails!
Current Version : v4
Released 22th September 2017
Devon Rails is based on and greatly extends DTG’s Riviera Line. Version 4 includes new detailed scenery from Crediton to Okehampton and Meldon Quarry; the Dartmoor Railway.
The route will continue to be updated regularly. At the moment there is detailed scenery for:
Exeter to Plymouth, Exeter to Exmouth, Exeter to Honiton, and Exeter to Meldon Quarry.
There is partial scenery for:
Plymouth to St Budeaux and Cowley Bridge Junction to Tiverton Parkway.
And line, signalling and stations only for:
Honiton to Axminster, Coleford Junction to Barnstaple, St Budeaux to Gunnislake, and Tiverton Parkway to Bristol Temple Meads.
We’ll steadily fill in missing detail and new route features over time, and also add the South Devon Railway and the Paignton and Dartmouth Railway.
You absolutely must have the Riviera Line Modern installed for this route to work. For an acceptable experience you’ll also need to have DTG’s scenery packs, North Somerset Line, Brighton Main Line, and Riviera Line in the 50s routes. You also need Just Trains’ Western Main Lines and Bristol to Exeter routes; DP Simulation’s Barnstaple to Exeter; and the UKTS community scenery packs. For the best experience you’ll need all the assets listed in the table on page 2 below.
You’ll need the rolling stock assets in the table to run some of the scenarios, but not if you don’t play them. You can use RW Tools to swap out locos and stock you don’t have for suitable alternatives that you do.
Unlike previous versions of Devon Rails, version 4 will overwrite the previous version (3) - if already installed in your system. This means that you can keep and still enjoy any scenarios you created or added yourself.
If you edited any of the supplied scenarios you’ll need to clone them to keep the changes, BEFORE you install v4.
If you want to keep v3 as a separate route you’ll need to clone it.
